Have you ever gotten stuck in a vicious cycle of thinking negative thoughts about yourself?
And before you know it, you’re feeling totally guilty, discouraged and ashamed?
Well, I certainly have.
And up until about a month ago, I had no idea that I had any control over these tormenting cycles.
But after a chance encounter with “brain trainer” Dana Wilde, I came to realize that I’m actually 100% in control of my emotions—both positive and negative—by the thoughts I choose to have.
I met Dana at conference this past September, and even though I only talked to her for about 5 minutes something she said resonated with me instantly.
When I asked her what she does, she said “I teach people how to achieve success—in any area of their lives—by using intentional action.”
She went on to explain that intentional action simply means you get yourself to FEEL GOOD FIRST, and then you take action towards whatever goal you want to achieve.
She said, “when you experience a negative, counter productive emotion—like hopelessness, anger, fear, or frustration—everything you touch in that emotional state turns to CRAP! So when you’re feeling a negative emotion your only job is to feel good first, so you can take the right action.”
This concept made a lot of sense to me and I wanted to learn more, so a few days after I met Dana, I bought her book Train Your Brain and consumed every page of it.
I can honestly say that what I’ve learned from her book has completely changed my life.
I’ve been using Dana’s “mind aware” exercises for just over a month now and I’m feeling so EMPOWERED because I now have simple strategies that put me 100% in control of how I choose to feel every day.
And I can’t tell you how liberating that is—especially after a lifetime of feeling like a slave to my own emotions.
The concepts that Dana teaches in her book had such a strong impact on me that I felt compelled to share them with you and have her come on my podcast so you can experience her teachings first hand.
